Policies (EXAMPLE VIDEOS COMING SOON!)
Feedback/suggestion boxes will be created and placed around the school, so students and administration can give feedback and suggestions to SCO on events and other school-related issues. These boxes will be opened and reviewed every meeting.
Feedback Boxes
Outcome
This allows a wide range of students to tell SCO what they want. This also keeps SCO accountable, because SCO should work for everyone, not just some.
The revival of the SCO Instagram and integrating school events with youtube videos will help student’s adjust to changes in school policies and will help SCO with announcing things such as events, spirit week, or even posting interviews with executive and forum members to discuss changes.
This will allow SCO to communicate and connect with the student body more clearly, along with keeping parent’s and administration looped in to what SCO is working and/or planning.
SCO Social Media
Outcome
Polls are a way for the student body to show SCO what they want, rather than decisions being purely made for them. Polls will be sent out through google forms for things such as spirit week themes (including class colors) and events.
Student Polls
In order to bridge the gap between student government and wildfire, a new position will be made on SCO Forum for 1-2 student leaders from Wildfire club to attend meetings that involve things such as spirit week, pep rallies, and SCO Olympics. This position will also coordinate with SCO to create things such as student-led halftime events and more!

Specifics

The lock-in is a school wide event, usually around mid-January, where students are “locked-in” to the school from around 9PM to 6AM, to play games, watch movies, and make connections. My plan for the lock-in is to make it as engaging and fun as possible. I plan to keep everything we had for the lock in 2 years ago (Gym games, Zombie tag, etc), while also adding activities such as, a cooking competition in the FCS room, Game shows for cash prizes, and even another school wide game depending on interest.

I would like to keep strengthening student connection through creating more spaces for students to engage in activity, one example of such a space is the commons. Currently, the commons feels a bit lifeless, I would like to fix that by fundraising to install at least 2 more mediums for students to socialize with, some possibilities are, an air hockey table, a pool table, and finally, allowing students to use the projector inside of the commons for things such as games, study groups, etc.

To showcase our student body’s abundant amount of creativity, I would like to propose an SCO Student Film Competition for next year. This would entail groups of around 5 students each from the same grade or mixed grades, working together to create a short, non-professional film (around 2-3 minutes) around a broad topic. Some examples of topics would be things like time, faith, reflection, etc. Following the showing of these films students will all vote together for multiple different award categories. Some examples of awards would be best film, best actor/actress, best cinematography, etc.

In order to keep strengthening SCO’s work with Wildfire club, I am going to bring back the homecoming tailgate next year. The homecoming tailgate was a outdoor event with games and food, held during the color-run (homecoming weekend) to support athletics and have fun.

I would like to try my best to have a student vote around what the venue will be for the homecoming dance next year. Whether that’s something new, or something before.
WHY SHOULD I VOTE FOR YOU EVEN THOUGH You’ll be a junior?
I understand that many people may view my sophomore status as a potential weakness, but I choose to see it as a strength. Being a junior next year gives me the opportunity to step into being president with high school experience, renewed energy, and perspective.
Having a year ahead of me allows me to look past making changes just for my class, but keeping momentum going for the years after me as well.
